When you think of Hypnosis do pictures come to your mind of grown men flapping their arms and squawking like a chicken? Or down on all fours barking like a dog? You are not alone. That is how hypnosis is hyped up for stage shows and television specials. They really do use hypnosis but it’s not done in an instant as they make you think. The people that go up on stage are volunteers and are usually given a post-hypnotic suggestion prior to the cameras rolling. That is NOT really what hypnosis is about. Although it can be quite entertaining!

That being said, here’s a video for you - Just For Fun!

Hypnosis is an altered state of mind.

The American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH) is the largest U.S. organization for health and mental health care professionals using clinical hypnosis.

Founded in 1957, ASCH’s members are psychologists, psychiatrists, clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists, mental health counselors, medical doctors, master’s level nurses and dentists. Their efforts to support research and set standards for ethical practices of hypnotherapy are respected world-wide.The following information on hypnosis is taken from the ASCH’s website.

Definition of Hypnosis

“Hypnosis is a state of inner absorption, concentration and focused attention. It is like using a magnifying glass to focus the rays of the sun and make them more powerful. Similarly, when our minds are concentrated and focused, we are able to use our minds more powerfully. Because hypnosis allows people to use more of their potential, learning self-hypnosis is the ultimate act of self-control.”

This website is intended to inform and entertain you, maybe even make your life better through hypnosis. There are so many ways to use hypnosis in a positive way that I am sure you will find something of interest.
